Saturdays is exactly what you'd expect from a 2023 Disney Channel show—safe, sweet, and formulaic. It's not going to win awards for originality, but it does what it sets out to do: give young kids a fun, colorful show about friendship and roller skating without any content that'll make you dive for the remote.
The roller skating angle is a nice touch and might actually get kids interested in trying it themselves, which is more than you can say for most sitcoms. The show has positive messages about family and friendship baked in without being preachy, and parents consistently give it the thumbs up.
That said, it's not particularly imaginative or enriching. The 6.3 IMDb rating tells the story—it's fine, competent, watchable, but not exceptional. If you've got elementary-age kids and need something reliably clean that won't rot their brains, Saturdays fits the bill. Just don't expect it to become anyone's all-time favorite show.
