Look, Robot Chicken is what happens when comedy writers get access to every action figure from the 80s and 90s and a complete disregard for childhood innocence. It's creative, sure—the stop-motion work is impressive and the pop culture knowledge runs deep. But this is Adult Swim at its most adult.
If you're a parent, keep this one far away from the kids. We're talking graphic violence, sexual content, and your kid's favorite characters doing things that can't be unseen. Remember that episode where [insert beloved childhood character] gets [horrible thing]? Yeah, that's the whole show.
For adults who enjoy dark comedy and don't mind their nostalgia getting dragged through the mud? It's entertaining enough—that 7.7 IMDb rating isn't lying. But as far as family viewing goes, this scores about as low as it gets on the WISE scale. Watch it after the kids are asleep, on your own device, with headphones. Or just... maybe watch something else entirely.
