Retail Tycoon 2 (and its mobile idle variants) is essentially a math problem disguised as a grocery store. It’s significantly more educational than a mindless clicker because it requires actual resource allocation. You can't just tap your way to victory; you have to manage salaries and inventory.
The downside is the standard mobile 'slop'—ads that pop up to double your profits and a design that practically begs you to check your phone at the dinner table. If your kid is into spreadsheets or 'building a business,' this is a solid, clean choice, provided you set some boundaries around the 'check-in' frequency.
