This is the 2024 reissue of Daphne du Maurier’s 1938 masterpiece, and it remains the gold standard for Gothic suspense.

Don't let the 'classic' label fool you; it’s basically the blueprint for every modern domestic thriller. It’s moody, it’s slightly messed up, and it features the ultimate toxic work environment.

If your kid is into 'Dark Academia' or wants something with more meat on its bones than a standard YA mystery, this is a must-read. Just be prepared to talk about why the main couple’s relationship is a total red flag factory.
