Ready or Not is the spiritual successor to the classic SWAT 4, and it doesn't pull a single punch. It's a brilliant tactical simulator, but it is fundamentally built for adults. This isn't a power fantasy; it's a stress-inducing, claustrophobic look at the worst days of a first responder's life.
If your kid is looking for a fun shooter to unwind with, this is the wrong door. Between the realistic gore and the missions involving child exploitation and mass casualty events, it's one of the most 'mature' games on the market. It’s excellent at what it does, but what it does is definitely not for children.
