Prom Pact is competent, safe, and genuinely well-intentioned—but it's also exactly what you expect from a Disney+ teen movie. The good news: it has a solid message about authenticity over prestige that lands without being preachy, and the 89% critic score suggests it's watchable even for adults stuck on the couch.
The less-good news: it's formulaic as hell. If you've seen any teen rom-com where an uptight protagonist learns to loosen up, you've seen this movie. The 'imaginative' score suffers because there's zero risk-taking here.
That said, for tweens and young teens navigating their own social pressures and starting to think about college, this could actually spark useful conversations. It's enriching enough to justify the runtime, wholesome without being cringe, and safe enough that you can put it on without worrying about what scene might pop up.
Bottom line: If your kid enjoys feel-good, predictable stories with positive messages, this delivers. If they need edge or originality, look elsewhere.
