Pinecone & Pony is that rare kids show that does exactly what it promises without any surprises: sweet adventures, positive messages, zero content landmines. It's not going to blow anyone's mind with innovative storytelling, but for parents of kindergarteners and first graders who are exhausted by the chaos of Cocomelon or the snark of older kids' shows, this hits a nice middle ground.
The 6.5 IMDb rating tells you what you need to know—it's fine. Perfectly fine. The kind of show you can put on during breakfast without worrying about what's going to pop up, and your kid might actually learn something about friendship and perseverance. But it's not appointment television, and it won't have the staying power of a Bluey or the creative spark of a Hilda.
If you've got Apple TV+ anyway and a 5-7 year old, queue it up. Just don't expect it to become anyone's new obsession.
