If your kid is struggling to finish a 'real' book, this is your secret weapon. It’s not 'dumbing down' the story; it’s just giving it a visual punch that works.
The 2010 art style is a little bit 'early 2000s edgy,' which can feel a bit dusty to a kid used to modern webtoons, but the story is bulletproof. It’s wholesome, smart, and a thousand times better than the 2010 movie (we don't talk about the movie).

Standard fantasy action. Monsters turn into gold dust when stabbed, so there’s no gore. It’s safer than most Marvel movies, though the 'scary' moments are more vivid in the art than they are on the page of the prose book.
It's a stealth-education in Greek mythology. Your kid will accidentally learn who Ares and Athena are while thinking they're just reading an action comic. It also does a lot for the self-esteem of kids with learning differences.
