Overlord is the ultimate 'what if I were the final boss?' simulator. It’s a sharp, often funny, but undeniably brutal take on the isekai genre that skips the standard hero's journey in favor of a cold-blooded conquest.

If your kid is looking for a feel-good adventure, this isn't it. But if they're into deep lore and tactical RPG mechanics, and they're old enough to handle some gore and fan service, it’s a masterclass in world-building. Just be ready for the fact that the 'hero' is a giant skeleton who doesn't mind a bit of light genocide to get his way.
