Look, Oswald is perfectly safe and perfectly wholesome, and if you grew up with it in 2001, you might have warm fuzzy feelings. But let's be real: this show has not aged well.
The animation looks like early computer graphics that time forgot, the pacing makes paint-drying look exciting, and the stories are so simple they barely register. It's not bad—it's just aggressively mediocre and dated.
If you need ultra-gentle content for a very young toddler, sure, it won't hurt anything. But you could also just put on Bluey, Daniel Tiger, or literally any modern preschool show that manages to be both age-appropriate AND actually engaging. Your kid will be fine without ever meeting this blue octopus, and you'll thank yourself for not having to sit through 24 minutes of 2001-era snooze-fest animation.
The WISE components are solid on paper, but the watchability penalty is real. This belongs in the "technically fine but why would you?" category.
