Oddballs is one of those shows where the rating doesn't tell the whole story. On paper, it's a TV-Y7 animated comedy about a kid ranting about life's inconveniences. In practice, parents are consistently surprised by how violent and scary it gets—not constantly, but enough that multiple reviewers felt compelled to warn others.
The humor is absurdist and chaotic rather than warm or clever, and with a 6.4 IMDb rating, it's not exactly breaking through as must-watch material. If your kid loves frantic, weird humor and doesn't get spooked easily, they might enjoy it. But if you're looking for something actually wholesome and reliably kid-friendly, there are better options on Netflix.
It's not terrible, but it's also not great—just kind of aggressively mediocre with some unexpectedly intense moments thrown in.
