Here's the truth: No Ordinary Family is that show your friend's older sibling watched for like three months in 2010 before it disappeared forever. The concept is fine - family gets superpowers, learns to work together, standard ABC family drama stuff. Critics were reasonably kind (73%) and audiences liked it okay (83%), but not enough to save it from cancellation.
The real problem isn't that it's bad, it's that it's aggressively forgettable and now 15 years old. The production values scream 'network TV budget,' the storytelling is formulaic, and it ends on a cliffhanger you'll never get resolved. Why would you watch this when The Incredibles exists? Or any modern superhero content?
If you somehow stumble across it and your 13-year-old is desperate for content, it's safe and has decent family themes. But realistically, this is a relic that's hard to find and harder to care about. There are dozens of better family superhero options that don't look like they were filmed in someone's garage.
