Midnight in Salem was the long-awaited reboot of the Nancy Drew franchise, and to be honest, it kind of stumbled out of the gate. It’s not a 'bad' game, but it’s a clunky one.
For a die-hard Nancy fan, the story is interesting enough to push through the weird animations and limited gameplay. But for a modern kid used to the fluid movement of Minecraft or the polish of a Nintendo title, this will feel like a relic. The mystery is decent, but the execution is 'meh' at best. If your kid really wants a Nancy Drew fix, maybe point them toward 'Sea of Darkness' or the newer 'Mystery of the Seven Keys' instead.
