Ghost of Thornton Hall is basically the 'horror movie' of the Nancy Drew series. It’s a fantastic, high-IQ alternative to the mindless scrolling or repetitive loops of modern mobile games.
While the point-and-click mechanics from 2013 might feel a little stiff compared to modern open-world titles, the writing and atmosphere hold up perfectly. It’s a great 'bridge' game for a kid who thinks they’re too old for 'little kid' mysteries but isn't quite ready for M-rated horror. Just be prepared for some 'Senior Detective' level puzzles that might make you feel like you need to go back to school.
