Let's be real: Morbius is bad. Like, really bad. It scored 15% on Rotten Tomatoes from critics and a dismal 1.6/5 on Letterboxd. The audience score is misleadingly high (71%) because the internet ironically 'Morbed' all over it as a joke.
The violence is surprisingly intense for a superhero movie—this leans horror with blood drinking, slashing, and frightening transformation scenes. It's rated PG-13 but feels more appropriate for 14+.
But here's the bigger issue: it's boring. The plot is generic, the characters are flat, and even Jared Leto's commitment to the role can't save a script this lifeless. Kids who want to watch it because of the memes will be disappointed to discover it's not 'so bad it's good'—it's just forgettable.
If your teen is determined to see it, fine, but set expectations low. There are dozens of better superhero movies that are both more entertaining AND more age-appropriate.
