If your kid is obsessed with the game, buy this. It’s part of the official novel series, which is surprisingly well-vetted and high-quality.
Nicky Drayden brings a lot of flavor to the desert setting, and the focus on potion-making gives it a slightly different 'flavor' than the standard sword-and-shield Minecraft stories. It’s safe, it’s engaging, and it’s a lot better for their brain than a 10-hour YouTube marathon of someone screaming at a monitor. It’s not 'The Hobbit,' but it’s a solid win for literacy.
