It’s a self-contained, high-quality experience that respects the player’s time and intelligence. Just be prepared for a lot of green blood and very angry Orcs.
This is strictly for the 15+ crowd. While the digital safety is top-tier (no predators or credit card traps), the sheer amount of head-lopping makes it inappropriate for middle schoolers.
It's a grim revenge tale built on a foundation of 'slaughter everything that moves.' While there are themes of family and duty, they're mostly used as a springboard for a very dark, ghost-fueled rampage through Mordor.
The Nemesis system is a hall-of-fame innovation. Every enemy has a name, a personality, and a memory. If an Orc kills you, he gets promoted and mocks you about it later. It creates a dynamic, personal story that few games have matched even a decade later.
