The Meta Horizon app (and the Quest 3 it powers) is a phenomenal piece of tech that requires an active co-pilot. It’s not a 'set it and forget it' device. If you hand this to a 10-year-old without locking down the social settings, they're essentially walking into a digital mall with no security.
That said, the creative upside is massive. If your kid is into building, art, or even just high-energy rhythm games like Beat Saber, this is a 10/10 experience. The win is using the parent app to whitelist specific games and keeping them out of the 'Social' hubs where the quality of interaction drops off a cliff.
