Look, if you're an Anne Rice completist or love gothic supernatural drama, Mayfair Witches might scratch that itch—but temper your expectations. The premise is solid: neurosurgeon inherits witch powers and must face down a demonic entity that's haunted her family for generations. New Orleans atmosphere, generational trauma, female power dynamics—all the ingredients are there.
But those mediocre scores tell the real story. A 6.2 on IMDb and 47 on Metacritic suggest this doesn't quite nail the execution. It's watchable if you're into the genre, but it's not prestige horror that transcends its trappings.
For parents: this is absolutely, unequivocally not for kids. We're talking AMC+ horror with all that entails—violence, disturbing imagery, mature content. The CSM 13+ rating seems wildly optimistic. This is 17+ territory, full stop.
