This is the animated series that exists because the 2014 Guardians movie was a massive hit and Disney needed content for their younger audience. It's perfectly safe, reasonably entertaining, and completely forgettable.
The show does what it needs to do—gives elementary-aged Marvel fans access to Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot without the intensity of the theatrical films. There's action, there are quips, there are space adventures. But let's be real: this is B-tier Marvel content that feels like it was made by committee to fill a programming slot.
The 7.3 IMDb rating tells the story—it's fine. Kids in the target age range will watch it and enjoy it in the moment, but they won't be begging for rewatches or talking about it at school. If your kid is deep in their Marvel phase and has already burned through everything else, sure, queue it up. But if you're looking for genuinely great animated content, there are better options out there.
