Lost Romance is a 2020 Taiwanese drama that knows exactly how ridiculous romance novels are and decides to have a ball with it. A romance book editor ends up in a coma and wakes up as a minor side character inside a trashy 'domineering CEO' novel—where the male lead happens to look identical to the guy she's been stalking from afar in real life. Armed with a professional understanding of plot armor and romantic clichés, she decides to overthrow the story's sweet, helpless heroine and claim the leading man for herself.
For a teen who already lives on Webtoon, reads romance tropes for sport, or binges K-dramas and C-dramas on Rakuten Viki, this is top-tier comfort food. It splits its time between bright, self-aware comedy inside the book and a much moodier, soap-opera-style corporate succession battle in the real world. It's smart about being silly, mostly clean aside from some genuinely steamy PG-13/TV-14 romance scenes later in the season, and requires zero parental stress.
