Locke & Key is a modern masterpiece of the graphic novel medium, but don't let the 'magic keys' premise fool you into thinking it's for kids. It’s a heavy, visceral exploration of trauma wrapped in a dark fantasy skin.

For a mature teen who can handle horror, it's a 10/10 experience in terms of creativity and emotional depth. Just be ready for some 'holy crap' moments that might keep them up at night. It’s essentially the Sopranos of magic-key stories—dark, bloody, and brilliant.
