Look, Lip Sync Battle had its moment in 2015-2016, but let's be real: this is a one-joke show that ran out of steam fast. The concept is fun for about two episodes, then you realize you're just watching the same thing over and over with different famous faces.
The bigger issue for families is the inconsistency. One episode might feature a wholesome performance of a Disney song, the next has a celebrity grinding in a barely-there outfit to a song with explicit lyrics (bleeped, but still). You really need to pre-screen episodes, which defeats the purpose of having something easy to throw on.
For tweens who are obsessed with celebrities and pop culture, this might hit the spot for a few episodes. But even then, there are way better uses of screen time. The show offers zero enrichment, minimal creativity (the celebrities aren't creating anything, just mimicking), and the format feels incredibly dated now that TikTok exists and every kid can watch actual creative lip syncs anytime.
Bottom line: It's not harmful, but it's also not particularly worthwhile. If your tween is begging to watch it, fine - but don't expect it to hold their attention for long, and definitely watch with them to skip the inappropriate performances.
