Kingdom Come: Deliverance is the 'anti-Skyrim.' It doesn't care if you feel like a hero; it wants you to feel like a person in 1403.
For a teenager interested in history, this is better than any textbook. They'll learn about the Holy Roman Empire, the schism of the Church, and how a trebuchet actually works.
But parents need to be aware: this is a raw, adult game. It doesn't shy away from the 'lusty' or 'bloody' parts of the Middle Ages. If you're okay with the M-rated content, it's one of the most intellectually stimulating RPGs ever made. If you're looking for something 'safe' for a middle-schooler, keep walking.
