Here's the thing: this should be great. Multiverse-ending stakes! Every DC hero ever! The Monitor! But that massive gap between critic scores (78%) and audience scores (54%) tells you everything—critics appreciated the ambition, but viewers found it underwhelming.
The 2.7/5 Letterboxd rating is particularly telling. That's 'meh' territory even for superhero fans. And as Part One of a trilogy, you're getting setup without payoff, which means lots of exposition and a cliffhanger ending.
If your kid is absolutely obsessed with DC lore and needs to see every adaptation of Crisis on Infinite Earths, fine. But for casual superhero fans? There are better ways to spend 90 minutes. The Spiderverse films do the multiverse thing infinitely better. This feels like homework for a test that might not be worth taking.
