Let's be clear: this is not a family show, not a teen show, not even a 'mature 16-year-old' show. This is adult stand-up comedy, and it's excellent at what it does.
Mulaney earned that 100% critic score and his Emmy by being genuinely clever and culturally sharp. He's talking about growing up Catholic, the absurdity of college debt, Trump-era anxiety, and yes, pedophiles (in the context of stranger danger education gone wrong). It's smart, it's funny, and it's completely inappropriate for children.
The WISE score is low because this is being evaluated through a family media lens, and through that lens, it fails almost every metric except 'is it good at what it does?' For parents looking for their own entertainment? This is a solid choice. For anything involving kids? Hard pass.
Think of this as a reminder to check your Netflix profile settings so your 10-year-old doesn't accidentally click on it while looking for Nailed It.
