Look, Jimmy Kimmel Live! is fine. It's not offensive, it's not dangerous, but it's also not particularly good or valuable for young viewers.
The 14+ rating is spot-on—younger kids won't get the references and will be exposed to humor that's not age-appropriate. For teens 14-17, it might provide some pop culture literacy and current events awareness, but you could get that from better sources.
The real question is: why would you want your teen watching this? It's formulaic, the jokes age poorly, it's designed to sell movie tickets and albums, and the IMDB 6.4 rating tells you that even adults find it mediocre. If your teen is interested in comedy, point them toward actual comedy specials or sketch shows. If they want news, get them reading actual news.
This isn't harmful, but it's also not enriching. It's television junk food—empty calories that won't hurt you but won't help you either.
