EA's Iron Man game is real, single-player, and still without a date
Motive Studio in Montreal, the team behind the 2023 Dead Space remake and the campaign of Star Wars Battlefront II, announced its Iron Man game in September 2022 as a single-player, third-person action-adventure with an original story rather than a retelling of the movies. Executive producer Olivier Proulx previously worked on Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. EA has said the game is coming to consoles and PC, and nothing more about platforms, price or timing.

What the leaked footage showed
On August 28, 2026, about two and a half minutes of unfinished footage, watermarked "AUG26 TEST," spread online. EA confirmed it was real within hours: "Well, that didn't go as planned. But now you know, and we've got a lot more to show you." The clip shows Iron Man flying freely over a large city that reporters guessed was Chicago, landing to fight armed enemies hand to hand, firing missiles and beams while hovering, and short scenes with Tony Stark, Pepper Potts and James Rhodes. Kotaku and VGC both noted placeholder art in places, so the finished game may look different.
What a parent can plan around now
Nothing is rated yet, and EA has given no release window. The closest guides are other single-player Marvel games: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy were both rated T for Teen for violence and language, and Marvel's Iron Man VR already lets a kid fly the suit today. If your kid is asking about Iron Man in a game right now, they likely mean Marvel Rivals, a free online team shooter with open voice chat, which is a different decision from this one.
