Look, let's be real: this show exists, and that's about the nicest thing we can say about it. Critics absolutely panned it (34% on Rotten Tomatoes, 49 on Metacritic), and even the audience was just 'meh' at 65%. It's a gender-swapped reboot of a beloved sitcom that forgot to bring any original ideas to the table.
The premise—woman tells her son how she met his father via flashbacks to 2021 dating app chaos—is literally just the original show with a Find & Replace. For teens 14+, there's mature content around hookups, dating, and relationships, but nothing shocking for the genre. The real issue is that it's just not very good. With a 5.7 on IMDb, even fans of the original mostly skipped this one.
If your teen is really into rom-com sitcoms and has exhausted everything else, fine, it won't hurt them. But there are dozens of better shows that will actually entertain them (and maybe even make them think). This one's a skip unless you're truly desperate for new content.
