Hitch is exactly what it promises: a charming, predictable rom-com elevated by Will Smith's charisma. The 'date doctor' premise could've gone full toxic pickup-artist, but the movie smartly pivots to a message about authenticity and genuine connection.
That said, it's firmly PG-13 with sexual humor woven throughout. Not graphic, but constant. The language includes a couple of F-bombs and plenty of crude references. Twenty years later, some of the gender dynamics feel dated—the whole 'teaching men to trick women' setup has aged poorly, even if the movie ultimately rejects that approach.
For teens 13+, it's a solid choice for a family movie night where you want something light and funny. The messages about being yourself and respecting your partner are worth reinforcing. Just know you're getting 2005 rom-com energy, complete with flip phones and dating advice that feels like a time capsule.
