This isn't your typical dry 'educational' book. Frankie is a firecracker who actually uses her brain to solve problems. It’s refreshing to see a story where a kid uses research and blueprints to get what she wants instead of just whining.
It’s a great pick for kids who are starting to move past easy readers but aren't quite ready for the heavy themes of older middle-grade novels. Plus, the STEM elements are baked into the plot so naturally that kids won't even realize they're learning the scientific method. It’s smart, diverse, and actually fun to read.
