For All Mankind is that rare show that's both entertaining and genuinely educational—if your teen is into space, alternate history, or just asking big 'what if?' questions, this is gold. It treats viewers intelligently and doesn't dumb down the science or politics.
That said, this is absolutely not for younger kids. It's a mature drama with all that entails: sexual content, character deaths, strong language, and heavy emotional themes about sacrifice and loss. The pacing is deliberate and character-focused, which means some teens will find it slow.
But for the right audience—say, a 15-year-old who devoured The Martian or gets excited about SpaceX launches—this is fantastic. It normalizes women in STEM decades before it happened in real life, explores the costs of ambition, and makes you think about how different choices ripple through history. Just make sure you're watching together or at least checking in, because some episodes pack an emotional punch.
