This is the book that basically started the CBT revolution. It’s dense, it’s from the 80s, and it’s long enough to be used as a doorstop, but the logic is bulletproof.
If your teen is struggling with the 'everything is a disaster' mindset, this is the repair manual. It’s not a 'fun' read, and it definitely feels like homework, but it’s one of the few books that can actually change how a person’s brain processes a bad day. Don't expect them to read it cover-to-cover—just leave it open to the 'Cognitive Distortions' list and let them see themselves in it.
