If you remember the original 1978 Faces of Death, you know it was a notorious shock-video tape that circulated on playground rumors for decades. This modern remake trades cheap shock value for a meta-horror narrative about a social media content moderator uncovering a series of staged murder videos.
As a film, it has some interesting things to say about digital desensitization and the human toll of content moderation. Make no mistake, though: this is heavily visual, stomach-turning R-rated horror packed with graphic gore, explicit violence, and disturbing themes.
It is strictly adult territory. If your teenager is curious because they saw horror creators talking about it on TikTok, steer them toward far less traumatizing psychological thrillers instead.
