Eddie the Eagle is that rare sports movie that actually delivers on its feel-good promise without being insufferably cheesy. It's got heart, humor, and enough 80s charm to make it watchable for the whole family.

The WISE scores are solid across the board—it's wholesome without being preachy, safe enough for tweens, and genuinely enriching in how it reframes success and failure. The imaginative score is lower because it's a fairly straightforward biopic, but that's not really a knock against it.

The film works because it doesn't shy away from the fact that Eddie was objectively not good at ski-jumping. He came in dead last. But it makes you root for him anyway, and that's the magic—teaching kids that showing up, trying hard, and staying true to yourself matters even when you're not the best.
