Dog Man Unleashed is a total win. While some parents might roll their eyes at the slapstick and the occasional 'butt' joke, the reality is that this book gets kids to sit down and read for an hour straight without being asked.
It’s high-energy, visually engaging, and surprisingly wholesome. If you have a reluctant reader in 1st or 2nd grade, this is usually the series that flips the switch from 'reading is hard' to 'reading is fun.' It’s not Shakespeare, but for a seven-year-old, it’s arguably more important.
