If your kid is already obsessed with the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime, they are going to demand this book. It’s a high-octane prequel that fills in the gaps for Rebecca, the trigger-happy fan favorite. Just know that Night City doesn't do 'clean' or 'safe.' It’s a gritty, neon-soaked tragedy waiting to happen.
From a literacy standpoint, manga like this is a win for visual storytelling and vocabulary, but the content is heavy. It’s a great pick for older teens who like their sci-fi with a side of existential dread and a lot of chrome, but it’s definitely not a 'starter' comic for the middle-school set.
