This is Codenames Duet wearing a Sorting Hat, and that's not a bad thing. The core gameplay is clever and engaging—making one-word clues that connect multiple Harry Potter terms requires genuine creativity and quick thinking. The cooperative structure keeps things friendly, and the 15-minute runtime means it never overstays its welcome.
The Harry Potter theme is well-integrated (double-sided cards with words and images are a nice touch), but this really shines if you're already a fan. Non-Potterheads will struggle to make meaningful connections, and casual fans might find themselves guessing rather than deducing.
It's a solid 82 because it does what it sets out to do efficiently: quick, clever, cooperative fun for two Potter fans. But it's not going to blow your mind or become your desert-island game. Think of it as a great stocking stuffer or a fun addition to game night rotation, not the main event.
