Cloudy 2 is that perfectly fine sequel that your kids will enjoy on a rainy afternoon but probably won't request repeatedly. The food-animal hybrids are legitimately creative—tacodiles and shrimpanzees are inspired—and there's enough visual invention to keep things interesting.
But let's be real: this is a step down from the original. The emotional core is thinner, the villain is more cartoonish, and the whole thing feels like it's trying harder to be clever than to be meaningful. The TMDB rating of 6.5 tells the story—it's decent, not great.
That said, it's safe, colorful, and harmless. If your kids loved the first one, they'll have fun with this. Just don't expect it to become a family favorite or teach any profound lessons. It's comfort food—appropriately enough—but not a nutritious meal.
