Chess - Play & Learn is the gold standard for a reason. It’s not just a board; it’s a massive, interactive library of strategy that happens to let you play games. It’s one of the few apps where the screen time feels like a genuine investment in a child’s brain rather than just a way to kill an hour.
That said, the main app is a social network. If your kid is under 10, the separate ChessKid app is the better move. It’s the same engine but with the 'stranger danger' stripped out and the lessons tailored for a younger vibe. If they’re older and ready for the main stage, just make sure you peek at the privacy settings first.
