Look, Cheers is objectively great television—the writing is sharp, the characters are well-developed, and it won 28 Emmys for excellent reasons. But for kids? This is a non-starter.

It's a show about adults drinking in a bar, dealing with failed marriages, workplace romance, and existential loneliness. The humor relies heavily on sexual innuendo and 1980s gender dynamics that feel pretty gross now. Sam Malone is a recovering alcoholic womanizer. Diane is written as a pretentious intellectual who needs to be taken down a peg. The jokes about women and relationships haven't aged well at all.

More importantly, it's just boring for modern kids. It's literally people standing around talking in one room for 22 minutes. No action, no visual creativity, no stakes that matter to anyone under 30. The pacing is slow by today's standards.

If you're an adult looking for comfort viewing or want to understand why this was such a cultural phenomenon, go for it. But don't put this on for family viewing expecting your kids to care. They won't. They'll ask if they can watch literally anything else.
