Let's be real: this movie is bad. Not 'so bad it's good' bad, just regular bad. With a 16% critic score and a 22 on Metacritic, this is one of those comedies that makes you wonder how it got made.
The premise—lifelong friends competing in absurd challenges—could have been heartwarming or at least funny, but by all accounts, it's neither. It's the kind of bro-comedy that peaked in 2005 and hasn't aged well even though it came out in 2019.
The 67% audience score is interesting—it suggests some people found it entertaining in a mindless way—but that gap between critics (16%) and audiences tells you everything: this is lowbrow humor that even fans of lowbrow humor mostly didn't love.
For parents: this is absolutely not for kids (17+), and even for older teens, there are approximately 10,000 better ways to spend 90 minutes. If your college-age kid wants to watch it with friends as background noise while scrolling their phones, fine, but don't expect anyone to actually pay attention or remember it afterward.
The WISE score reflects reality: this is neither wholesome, imaginative, safe for younger viewers, nor enriching. It's just... not good.
