The Bridgerton books are the gold standard for modern Regency romance for a reason: they're funny, fast-paced, and the family chemistry is top-tier. If you're looking for a 'brain candy' read that still has some literary meat on its bones, Julia Quinn delivers.
That said, don't mistake these for YA just because the Netflix show is popular with teens. They are adult novels with adult scenes. The first book in particular has a plot point regarding consent that hasn't aged well and requires a real conversation if a younger reader picks it up. If you can get past the 'spiciness,' it's a masterclass in witty, romantic escapism.
