Brian’s Winter is the rare sequel that might actually be better than the original. It’s lean, mean, and totally engrossing. In an era of infinite scrolls and instant gratification, watching a kid spend fifty pages just trying to figure out how to stay warm is weirdly therapeutic and deeply rewarding.
It’s not 'educational' in the boring school sense, but it’s deeply enriching in the 'how to be a person' sense. If your kid liked Hatchet, this is a no-brainer. If they haven't read Hatchet, buy them both. It’s the ultimate antidote to brain rot.
