A palace built from the music videos
BLACKPINK The Palace opened on Roblox on August 25, 2023, as the group's first official experience there. YG Entertainment published it through its official Roblox group, and Karta, a UK studio that had built Roblox spaces for Amazon Music, designed it. The rooms borrowed their look from BLACKPINK's music videos, and avatars of Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa walked the grounds so fans could take photos with them.
Fans learned signature choreography, tried on outfits from the group's past eras, and earned in-game currency to decorate rooms and host BLACKPINK parties for friends. Below the palace, a cavern let players smash crystals with a hammer shaped like the group's lightstick to power up their items. A larger Pink Caverns area with puzzles arrived in December 2023.
Free to enter, with a merch shelf
Walking in cost nothing. The shop sold exclusive emotes set to the group's songs and BLACKPINK avatar items for Robux, and new drops kept coming. The last ones went on sale with a countdown to the closing date. For a fan, that pull toward one more emote is the same one behind lightsticks and album versions, and it is worth a spending limit in Roblox's parental controls.
It closed in November 2024
The Palace was announced as a lasting home for fans, but YG closed it at 9 a.m. Korea time on November 26, 2024, after about 5.5 million visits. A kid who wants BLACKPINK on a screen now can watch BLACKPINK: Light Up the Sky, the Netflix documentary about the members' training years.
