Bill & Ted is a relic. It's harmless, goofy, and kind-hearted, but it's also slow, corny, and feels like it was made in a different century (because it was). The time-travel premise is fun, and the 'be excellent to each other' message is genuinely sweet, but the execution is paper-thin and the humor is very much 1989.
Modern kids raised on Marvel pacing and Pixar wit will likely check out. The historical figures are cartoons, the educational value is nil, and the gender dynamics are cringe (princesses exist to be rescued and kissed). It's not offensive, just deeply dated.
If you're a parent with nostalgia for this movie, go ahead and share it—but temper expectations. Your kid might humor you for 20 minutes before asking to watch something else. It's a decent family movie night pick for 10-13 year olds who can appreciate absurdist humor and don't mind slow pacing, but it's not essential viewing. The WISE score reflects reality: it's fine, but there are way better options out there.
