Beat Bobby Flay is the definition of harmless, pleasant Food Network filler. It's perfectly safe, mildly interesting if you're into cooking, and won't teach your kids anything terrible (or much of anything, really).

The format is paint-by-numbers: two chefs compete, one wins, that chef challenges Bobby, Bobby usually wins. Rinse and repeat for 30+ seasons. The 6.5 IMDb rating is generous - this is background TV at its finest.

That said, if you have a kid who's genuinely interested in cooking or watches other food competition shows, this could be a nice addition to the rotation. It's certainly better than a lot of the garbage on YouTube. Just don't expect it to hold anyone's attention for more than a few episodes unless they're really, really into watching people cook under time pressure.
