Look, this is one of those direct-to-video Barbie movies that Mattel churned out before they figured out how to make actually good Barbie content (see: 2023's theatrical Barbie). The premise—Barbie fights an emoji villain inside a video game—sounds like it was generated by an algorithm in 2016.
The scores tell the story: 5.0 on IMDb, 2.5/5 on Letterboxd, 56% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Even by direct-to-video standards, this is skippable. It's perfectly safe and has nice messages about friendship, but it's also perfectly boring.
If your 5-year-old is obsessed with Barbie and has already watched everything else, fine, put this on. But don't expect them to ask for repeat viewings, and don't feel bad if you suddenly remember you need to fold laundry in another room.
