Look, we all know the direct-to-video Barbie movies exist on a spectrum, and this one is firmly at the bottom. With a 4.9/10 on IMDb and 43% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, even the core demographic isn't impressed.
It's perfectly safe—maybe the safest thing your kid could watch—but that's because it's so bland and formulaic that there's nothing remotely challenging or interesting about it. The plot is predictable, the animation is serviceable at best, and the whole thing feels like it was assembled from a template.
If your preschooler is absolutely obsessed with Barbie and you've exhausted better options, fine. But there are so many stronger Barbie movies (the recent theatrical release, the classic Nutcracker, even Princess Charm School) that putting this on feels like settling. It won't harm them, but it probably won't entertain them much either.
