Look, this is peak mid-2000s/early-2010s direct-to-video Barbie content. It's harmless, it's sparkly, it checks all the friendship boxes, and it will absolutely not rot anyone's brain—but it also won't do much to grow it.
The animation quality is noticeably dated (think stiff movements and plastic hair), and the plot is so formulaic you could write it yourself: Ken gets taken, Barbie and friends transform into fairies, they go to a magical city, they save him, everyone learns about friendship. Done.
If you have a 5-7 year old who's deep in their Barbie phase and has already exhausted the newer offerings, this will entertain them for an hour. But if you're hoping for something with the charm of modern animated films or even the better Barbie movies (the 2023 live-action one set a high bar), this isn't it. It's perfectly safe background noise, but it's not appointment viewing by any stretch.
